Everything Old Is New Again
Georgia Classic Theatre is a 501c3 nonprofit theatre company that incorporated in the summer of 2026. We pull inspiration from the closed company of Georgia Shakespeare (1986-2014), a LORT D regional theatre that was in residence at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA. We stand on the shoulders of that company, as artists and audience combined, to ignite a renewed passion and commitment for this style of theatre and artist development. Together, we look forward to focusing on producing classic theatre of varying genres that serve today’s community.
Georgia Classic Theatre was formed by several associate artists, management specialists, and donors of the former Georgia Shakespeare. We strive to bring audience and artists together in a shared experience as we reimagine how this theatrical work interacts with the community.
