Welcome to Georgia Classic Theatre!

This company has been created in response to the loss of Georgia Shakespeare, twelve years ago, a company whose stellar reputation still resonates within the Atlanta community. Inspired by that legacy, Georgia Classic Theatre is buoyed by the efforts of former artists, staff, and board to create a semblance of its predecessor, forging a new legacy that will embrace a new generation of artists through its productions and education programs.

We are thrilled to launch this initiative with our production of Macbeth with an amazing cast of Atlanta actors, so familiar to many, yet with an influx of a new generation of actors from our partners here at Oglethorpe University. In addition, education programming begins at Avondale Estates with The Shakespeare at Sunset Series in Avondale Estates later this fall where early career artists will engage a new generation of audience members through the works of William Shakespeare. 

The model is set, and we are so looking forward to getting started! To quote the man himself, “thanks and thanks and ever thanks” to those supporters who have stuck around these many years and to those yet to experience what we are so proud to offer you as we forge ahead!
